It is with immense pride and heartfelt joy that we welcome you to the 7th Asian Oncology Nursing Society (AONS) International Conference, held in the vibrant heart of Metro Manila, Philippines. This milestone event, organized in collaboration with the Philippine Oncology Nurses Association (PONA), is not just a celebration—it is a powerful testament to the enduring strength, unity, and passion of oncology nurses across Asia.
From our humble beginnings in Thailand to our transformative gatherings in South Korea, China, India, Taiwan, and Indonesia, the AONS conference has consistently served as a beacon of hope, excellence, and progress in cancer care. Today, in the Philippines, we proudly continue that legacy under the theme: “SYNERGY: Shaping the Future Through Education, Yielding Excellence, Nurturing Evidence-Based Research, and Guiding Oncology Nursing Innovation in Asia.”
This theme is more than a call to action—it is a collective promise. A promise to:
- Collaborate across borders and cultures,
- Translate research into real-life impact,
- Lead with empathy and purpose, and
- Center our care around the dignity and well-being of every person facing cancer.
As leaders, clinicians, educators, and advocates, we stand at the frontline of a growing challenge. With 56% of global cancer deaths occurring in Asia, the demand for oncology nurses is rising. With projected global short of 10M health care workers by 2030, (WHO), the gap in cancer care are set to widen, making our role indispensable.
This conference is a reminder that we are stronger together—when we share innovations, learn from one another, and cultivate a unified vision for a future where every cancer patient in Asia receives the highest quality of nursing care.
